In this fourth installment of our series on Provident Living, we take a look at Resource Management. While resources admittedly cover much more than money, it is a major component of our resources, and one many of us struggle to manage well. President Hinckley’s regular comments on financial matters to members of the Church are ample evidence of this fact.
We have covered the basics for you, from a personal insight on the blessings of tithing (p. 6); to climbing out of debt (p. 8); learning to save (p.12); and overcoming the habit of spending (p.14).
As you know, campaign season is in full swing as well. Desert Saints Magazine has had our name in the press quite a bit in connection with Jim Gibson’s recent mailer. We set the record straight on a few items there as well (p. 26).
This year there are monumental issues coming down the legislative pike, from the Marriage Protection Amendment to illegal immigration issues to our ongoing Yucca Mountain battle, public education issues and water rights in the ongoing drought.
We encourage all residents to register to vote, study the issues and candidates carefully and then VOTE. Visit our website, www.DesertSaintsMagazine.com, for links to politician’s websites. The list will change as the season and primaries happen, so visit often, and check our blogs for updated information.
All the best,
Editor@DesertSaintsMagazine.com
