What wife hasn’t felt like strangling her husband at least once during their marriage? After realizing that truly isn’t an option, it’s time to consider what is. Author Merrillee Brown Boyack shows her struggle to become the smart wife and challenges women to become just that in the new book Strangling Your Husband Is Not an Option (Deseret Book, $14.95, softcover).
The meat of the book lies within the author’s real-life experience and advice shared with humor and wit. “I may not be great, good, perfect, or anything like anyone else,” explains Merrillee. “But the one thing I could do was to be smart. I could learn what works well and try to apply it to my own marriage. I could also learn what was not effective and try to eliminate it. Each of us can strive, within our own unique situations and with our own unique abilities, to be a smart wife.”
Strangling Your Husband Is Not an Option is written to teach wives how understanding men (particularly husbands) can lead to happier marriages, to be honest with themselves and help eliminate guilt that leads to positive change, and how to be a fun-living wife by following the five do’s and don’ts of wifehood. Some suggestions include, “Don’t put other people before him,” “Don’t put other things before him either,” “Don’t speak ill of him,” “Do value him – don’t covet another,” “Do value yourself,” and “Do gain understanding of what a man is.”
Strangling Your Husband Is Not An Option is available at Deseret Book, deseretbook.com, and wherever LDS products are sold.
