Guided by her neighbor and friend, Maxine, Kerrianne is introduced to Ryan Oakman. She recognizes him as the mailman who has been delivering her mail for the past four years. She even finds out Ryan has become friends with her children, often stopping to play catch with them while on his mail route. The irony of the situation becomes even more apparent when Kerrianne finds out he is a widower with two children of his own. She finds herself wondering: is it possible to love a man with the same heart that mourns another? Or will she have to choose?
