Letter From The Editor

Dave Ellis family 107When I asked for articles to print in this month’s issue, I had several topics. By far the most popular was New Year’s Resolutions. Hope springs eternal for all of us every January.

One of my goals for 2006 was to lose the last of the baby weight from my 2004 baby. Instead I had another baby and added to the total that needs to come off. I guess that puts me in good company with most of the rest of America. Good thing I made progress on my other goals!

This issue highlights several different takes on New Year’s rituals, so there’s plenty of fresh ideas that you can really use, and feel good about. I love the idea of starting the resolution process with a grateful heart, counting my blessings instead of my failings. (See page 13). I also love the idea of accepting and using the gift of new beginnings provided by the atonement. (See page 30.)

So for the upcoming months as I’m exercising my pounds away, I’ll be grateful for the sweet little angels playing at the park with me instead of stressing about the numbers on the scale. I’m sure my kids will appreciate that resolution too.

Happy New Year and all the best,
