Greg Bayles, Jr. was chosen to attend the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington, D.C. High school faculty nominate students who display great discipline, scholarship and leadership aptitude. Students receive a curriculum to help their learning, and then meet with lawmakers, cabinet secretaries, diplomats, lobbyists, journalists and academicians. Kathy Reid Bunker was chosen for the 2007 Alumni Community Service Enrichment of the Arts Award, presented by the BYU Alumni Las Vegas Chapter. Kathy is a graduate of Clark High School in Las Vegas and Brigham Young University. Kathy danced with the BYU Folk Dancers, and currently owns Bunker Dance Center, which employs twenty teachers. Kathy and her studio’s dance teams have won many awards over the years and will be performing this summer at Radio City Music Hall. They also give generously of their time, performing at many charitable events in the valley. Kathy has also choreographed, directed and served as a board member for the non-profit theater company, Signature Productions. Kathy is married to Chris Bunker and is the mother of four children.

Nancy Helm was chosen as the recipient for the 2007 Alumni Community Service Award, presented by the BYU Alumni Las Vegas Chapter. Nancy is a BYU alum and Director and founder of the Desert Chorale. A resident of Las Vegas for most of her life, Nancy is an accomplished soprano, music educator and director. Desert Chorale, now in its 24th year, was named the official voice of the Las Vegas (now Nevada) Symphony, and has won numerous accolades. The choir has appeared by invitation nine times in the Temple Square Concert Series in Salt Lake City. Mrs. Helm has served on the board of the Las Vegas and Nevada Symphonies, and the Advisory Board of the Las Vegas Performing Arts Center. Mrs. Helm is the mother of three grown children and twelve grandchildren and is a temple worker at the Las Vegas Temple.
