BYU activities are coming to Las Vegas and the BYU Alumni Association Las Vegas Chapter has planned many events for our community to enjoy this fall.

We have a fireside of music and the spoken word by LDS classical music chart-toppers, The 5 Browns. The fireside will begin at 7 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 2, 2007 at the Sunrise Stake Center (1825 N. Hollywood Blvd., Las Vegas). Admission is free; no tickets required.

The 8th annual Rex E. Lee golf tournament will be Thursday, Oct, 11th at 1p.m. at the Silverstone Golf Club. $150 per player for the four man scramble. Contact Kevin Christensen 255-1718 or golf@byualumnilv.org. Proceeds support the scholarship replenishment fund for BYU students from the Las Vegas valley.

Congratulations to this year’s scholarship recipients given by the Las Vegas chapter of the BYU Alumni Association. The winners are: Ryan Christensen, Mellissa Cowles, Alexandra Hume, Reese Knighting, Seth Oxborrough, Bryan Phillips, Jennifer Ray, and Rachel Scroggins.

Friday, October 12 will be the BYU football team fireside at 7 p.m. at the Redrock Stake Center. Admission is free and Sunday attire is recommended. Speakers and music will be featured by the football players themselves. Come enjoy the words of wisdom from linebackers and quarterbacks!

Saturday, October 13th is the Cougartown Tailgate party featuring the BYU marching band, cheerleaders, Cosmo, leaders of BYU athletics, BYU bookstore products, music, food, and corporate sponsors with giveaways. The party begins at 3:30 p.m.- 6:00p.m. at the Sam Boyd Stadium North practice field. Admission is free and meal tickets will be available for purchase.

The BYU vs. UNLV football game begins at 6:30 p.m. at Sam Boyd Stadium and tickets are available at www.byualumnilv.org. Whether you’re red or blue in spirit, come join us for these fun activities and enjoy good association and family values.
