These summer months pass so quickly. My daughter Hattie was baptized this month, and my nephew Chris is heading out on his mission. The forward progress of life happens so quickly it’s hard to believe.
We are saddened by the passing of President Faust. As I watched his funeral proceedings, rebroadcasts of his conference addresses and devotionals, and the commentaries of his colleagues, I was aware of the length of the shadow of his life.
He was a great husband and a loving father. He worked in business and public
service before devoting his life full-time to the Church. He loved, he served, he blessed the nations of the earth with his contributions. But most importantly, he was a sure witness of the Lord Jesus Christ. What a warm reception he must have received when he went Home.
I hope as Hattie and Chris go on in their lives, with all the other children and youth and missionaries and members, they will look to those special witnesses for direction. In a world that grows more confused by the day, they teach Truth, and they will lead us to Christ.
All the best,
