Book Review: God Wants a Powerful People

Book Review

In this great latter-day battle, the Lord needs every true follower to step forward—in every part of His kingdom—to draw upon and use every gift we’ve been given. There isn’t a week, a day, an hour to lose.”

- Sheri Dew, God Wants a Powerful People

Sheri Dew’s newest book God Wants a Powerful People (Deseret Book, $18.95, hardcover) defines sources of power that are available to all true followers of Jesus Christ. In her direct, practical and inspirational style, and drawing from her own memorable experiences and the lives of others, she clearly explains how to access the powers of heaven and make a difference in today’s world.

Written for both men and women, Dew eloquently convinces all that the Lord is waiting for his people to recognize the greatness he has bestowed upon them, and patiently guides his people to help build the kingdom of God.

“How much power do we want to have, and what are we willing to do to obtain it?” Dew asks. She effectively answers, “Will you learn to access the power of God so that you can live up to the heavenly recommendations that placed you here now, so that you can help destroy the ‘beautiful wickedness’ that abounds?”

Dew powerfully persuades readers to seek Christ, and that by so doing blessings will flow.
“Don’t ever underestimate the power of Jesus Christ to help us.” In addition to blessings that will come, she encourages all to recognize the influence that the Lord expects members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to have in the world. “The kingdom of God would change overnight if latter-day men and women of God understood who they are and what their commission is,” she explains.

God Wants a Powerful People is available at Deseret Book, DeseretBook.com and wherever LDS products are sold.
