Parents looking for performing arts venues for their children have an additional resource in the newest campus of the Hollywood Kids Academy for the Performing Arts. As a Performing Arts Academy, it offers a full spectrum of programs designed to develop your child’s talents and abilities while building their confidence and self–esteem.
The new Northwest Academy will feature two dance studios, a vocal studio, and a full stage with lights and sound including wireless microphones. Hollywood Kids Academy, or HKA, offers an excellent range of programs including dancing, singing, tumbling and acting, but they specialize in Musical Theater, which encompasses them all. In the Musical Theater Program, students attend once a week for 1½ hours and all are cast and perform in a play or a “Broadway” type review each semester.
HKA also offers an additional, unique program called “The Triple Threat Program.” This innovative Musical Theater program is more challenging and is designed to take our students as far as they want to go in the Performing Arts.
HKA was started in the fall of 2006 by Margie Seastrand, Jolynn Wilson and Jackie Snowden. Director and Founder Margie Seastrand has been associated with theater for many years in Las Vegas both as a performer and a director. Jolynn Wilson is an accomplished choreographer and dance teacher. Jackie Snowden has performed in the theater arts for many years. Her credits include assistant director, costume designer and producer.
The new Hollywood Kids campus at Craig and Rancho will start classes in January 2008, with performances in June 2008. We welcome students from three to eighteen years old.
