Pamela Hansen, author of the new book Finding the Angel Within (Deseret Book, softcover, $14.95) is a woman who is discovering to be happy with herself—no matter what the number on the scale says. And she is helping other women to do the same.

Finding the Angel Within uses a unique technique to help women become healthy: realistic, healthy living combined with relying on Heavenly Father and utilizing the atonement in order to heal an imperfect, mortal body. Each chapter contains “Search and Rescue Tips” that are thought-provoking, practical applications to do after pondering Pam’s prose.

Additionally, Pam suggests relying on a higher power by:

• Exercising faith and having the willingness to work hard to make the necessary changes.
• Praying for strength, believing that desires of the flesh will diminish as self-mastery is developed.
• Never forgetting that faith makes miracles possible—physical, emotional, and spiritual miracles.

Finding the Angel Within is a follow-up to Pam’s earlier book, Running With Angels, in which Pam inspired thousands of women to make healthy changes in their lives after reading Pam’s inspiring story. After publishing the book, Pam set up a 5K run/walk and began receiving hundreds of letters from women—all caught up in their self-image. Pam noticed that it all impacted each of their self-worth.
