Author Nancy Murphy is a popular and inspirational speaker. She attended BYU, where she met major league baseball player Dale Murphy. They are the parents of seven sons and one daughter.

Sister Murphy served with her husband while he presided over the Massachusetts Boston Mission of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She has held various callings in the Church, including Gospel Doctrine teacher, Relief Society president, and achievement day leader. The Murphys reside in Utah.
