The new school year provides the opportunity for college students to become involved in their local Institute program. LDS students have the added benefit of this educational, spiritual, social, and service-focused organization where they can—according to the Las Vegas NV Institute website— find “hope and power as they study the gospel, joy and satisfaction as they give their time in service to others, and love and friendship as they associate with others in the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

There are four Institute locations in Las Vegas and one in each St. George and Cedar City with a total of 112 classes being offered this term, both daytime and evening. Students must attend 75% of the 15 classes in order to get the credits offered for the class. With many of the first classes beginning the last week in August, you don’t have any time to waste to get registered! Eligibility: a student of any age enrolled in any accredited school of higher learning (includes beauty and massage school) may register free of charge; adults 31 and over not enrolled in school may enroll based on space availability for a fee of $1.25 per class or $18.75 per term, however it is recommended that these individuals enroll in continuing education classes (see below). You can go online to register at www.lds.org/institutes and click on the Institute location most convenient to you or contact the Institute office directly.
