Book Review

eyes 1108With more than two dozen published books, Rachel Ann Nunes knows what it takes to deliver an unforgettable story of romance and suspense. Nunes combines the clean romance that she is known for with the emotional desire to know where you came from in her new book, Eyes of a Stranger (Eyes of a Stranger, $16.95, Paperback).

At the center of the story is Tawnia McKnight, a recent transplant to Oregon, her fifth state in ten years. In Portland she hopes to find what she’s searching for in life, and she’s hoping to forget about Bret Winn. But when tragedy rocks the city of Portland, the man she hoped to never see again is thrust back into her life. And with him is the eccentric Autumn Rain, a stranger with inexplicably familiar eyes.

Soon Tawnia is surrounded by confusion and deceit. Where did Autumn Rain come from and why does she look so much like Tawnia? Though Autumn’s agony over her missing father seems real, there is much in her past that cannot be explained. Even more troubling for Tawnia is Bret’s interest in Autumn, despite Tawnia’s own attraction to the mysterious firefighter who once saved Autumn’s life.

Danger looms as Tawnia tries to unravel the clues both to the past and to the current tragedy in Portland. Will she find what she is looking for, or will everything she is beginning to care about slip once again from her grasp?

Eyes of a Stranger is available at bookstores nationwide and at Amazon.com.
