I have loved being the editor of Desert Saints Magazine since its inception seven-and-a-half years ago. I am proud of the hundreds of articles we have brought to you over the years, meant to inform, uplift and entertain. I hope this magazine has been a blessing to your life in some small way. I know it has blessed my life in many ways.
Whether I am different, or the world is different, or the articles are different, I cannot say. But I know that every article this month moved me to tears. I felt the Spirit testify to me over and over of the magnitude of the truths contained herein.
These are perilous times. Stick to the basics: study the scriptures; cry unto the Lord in all your doings, and He will direct your paths. Stand fast with faith, waiting for the arm of Jehovah to be revealed, for it surely will be in the days to come. Hearken to the words of the living prophets, especially the President of the Church, Thomas S. Monson.
Heed his counsel without delay, for therein lies the only safety.
The darkness that gathers around us now has been seen by prophets in every dispensation, and so has the means to overcome it. It is looking to the Good Shepherd, who tends to all those who hear His voice and follow Him. It took the Israelites forty years to learn to be His people.
How long will it take us? Will we look to Him and live?
I know that we can. I pray that we will. The best is yet to be!
All the best,
