Forever Strong 709
The coaching philosophy of an LDS rugby coach is immortalized in the new DVD, Forever Strong. (Available at Deseret Book $17.99)

The movie tells the true story of Coach Larry Gelwix, who creates not only championship teams, but championship boys. Gelwix is considered the “winningest coach in America,” with 19 national championships and an astounding 392-9 record in his 34-year career.

Following in the tradition of Rudy, Remember the Titans and We are Marshall, Forever Strong tells the feel-good story of one of his athletes and his journey to become both a better rugby player and person.

The story of Larry Gelwix and Forever Strong is a shining example of how the youth of today can do amazing things and reach way beyond what they thought they themselves could do when there is someone who believes in them and instills in them the virtues of faith, discipline, responsibility and respect for others.  As Coach Gelwix tells one of his players in the film, “You need to believe in yourself, because God doesn’t make junk.”
Gelwix not only has prepared more than 1,000 future missionaries throughout his career, but inspired countless others to be the best men they can be (to read their stories, visit missionarystrong.com).
