Christmas Traditions

General

boy with presents 1209
We have instituted a new family Christmas Tradition. Instead of a big family present-opening on Christmas Day, we hold a Cousin’s Christmas Camp for the grandkids during the day on Christmas Eve.

Instead of getting presents for all (21) grandchildren, we gave them the money to buy Christmas for poor families. We provided clothing, shoes, coats, toys and food. The children had the best time taking Christmas to others and didn’t miss at all the presents we didn’t buy them. Their gift was the Gift of Giving.

After delivering the presents and food we all went back to our (Grandie and Gramps) house and had the rest of our Cousin’s Christmas Camp activities. We have done Gingerbread houses, decorated a small tree for a great grandpa in a nursing home, and played Christmas songs on the chimes, to name a few.
