Come celebrate the arrival of the first Mormon missionaries to the Las Vegas Valley 155 years ago. There will be a pioneer breakfast Saturday, June 12, 2010, from 8-11 a.m. at the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort (on the corner of Washington & Las Vegas Blvd. N., next to Cashman Field).
$5 feeds the whole family Dutch Oven potatoes, flapjacks, bacon, eggs and juice. (Additional donations to the Fort are welcomed.) There will also be Blue Grass music by
“Aspen Ridge,” pioneer activities and some special visitors, including Brigham Young,
William Bringhurst, Jacob Hamblin and Porter Rockwell.
This event is sponsored by LDS Public Affairs, Friends of the Fort, Daughters of the Utah Pioneers, Civil War Friends of the Fort and Anderson Dairy.
The breakfast will be served from 8-10a.m. with the program beginning at 10:00.
Let’s celebrate our Mormon heritage in the valley and help keep the Old Las Vegas Mormon Fort open in these difficult times.
