Book Review: House of Learning By M. Richard & Kathleen H. Walker

Book Review

House of Learning cover 1010
A new book by the former Salt Lake LDS Temple president and his wife outlines ways any member can prepare to receive spiritual teachings in the temple.

In House of Learning, authors M. Richard and Kathleen H. Walker explain not only how to prepare for temple worship, but how to learn in the temple. The couple served for three years as president and matron of the Salt Lake Temple. Their book includes numerous personal experiences and practical applications.

Written in a conversational style with individual commentary from each author, House of Learning outlines the traits needed to be receptive to the spiritual teachings of the temple. In addition, the authors illustrate a simple process to unlock the spiritual meaning of ordinances
– including how they apply to people’s lives – and make the temple a personal house of learning.
