New Novel Explores Long-Term Effects of PTSD.
In G.G. Vandagriff’s new book, Pieces of Paris (Shadow Mountain, $16.99) Vandagriff is not just writing from imagination, she is writing from experience.
As a result of her inability to mourn her fiancé’s death in Vietnam, Vandagriff, without realizing, became a victim of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). Twenty years later, the disorder caught up with her, and in an effort to help work through her feelings, she wrote Pieces of Paris.
This novel explores the long-term effects of personal tragedy in haunting flashbacks of Annalisse Cavanaugh’s former life – flashbacks that are interwoven with a romance to reveal a person entirely different from the woman Dennis thought he married.
Whitney Award winner H.B. Moore said Pieces of Paris is, “a literary symphony, a cacophony of words that delves into the hearts of Annalisse and Dennis, as they fight to reestablish the rhythm of their marriage. An emotionally engaging and unforgettable story.”
