Join Leslie Albrecht Huber on Thursday, February 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Paseo Verde Library (280 South Green Valley Parkway in Henderson, NV) for a lecture and book signing of her newly released narrative nonfiction book, The Journey Takers. Leslie will share stories from her book, discuss the experiences of the nineteenth-century LDS converts who immigrated from Western Europe, and provide tips to help others interested in tracing their own immigrant ancestors.
Centered on the experiences of one family, The Journey Takers widens its focus to tell the story of an entire group of people: the nineteenth-century immigrants. Reviewers have called The Journey Takers “inspiring,” “hard to put down,” and “set apart by its masterful telling.”
Leslie is a freelance writer and speaker who formerly worked as a professional genealogist. Over 100 of her articles have appeared in a variety of publications including History Channel Magazine, FamilyFun, Ancestry, LDS Living, The Ensign, and more. Leslie has spoken about The Journey Takers and about tracing immigrant ancestors on Good Morning America, National Public Radio, BYU’s Family History and Genealogy Conference, and at libraries, museums, conferences, and meetings across the country.
The lecture is free and open to the public. For more information about the book or about Leslie, visit www.thejourneytakers.com.
