Most people would view Steve Mikita’s life as one big challenge. But Steve views it as an opportunity to reach for possibilities, despite disabilities. What kept him motivated? What gave him hope? His mother’s love and influence. She was told to prepare for her son’s death, but instead, raised him to live a life of joy.
She couldn’t teach him how to walk or ride a bicycle. But she did teach him something even more important: how to pray without kneeling. It was through his mother’s love that Steve found God’s love.
