Business Spotlight

A singing child is a happy child,” asserts Mrs. Sonia Bateman, director of the newly-established Young Ambassador Singers of Nevada. This children’s community-based choral group is comprised of youth ages 4-16. Mrs. Bateman’s goal is to help children from all walks of life to sing.

Mrs. Bateman has over 45 years of combined experience as a vocal and dramatic arts teacher, choral director and Montessori teacher. She has established community choirs across the United States, and developed a comprehensive, sequential music education program called Montekodi. Based on the teaching methods of Maria Montessori, combined with the highly acclaimed musical education program called Kodaly, the program can teach any child to sing.

There are many benefits to this program in addition to learning to sing. First, it serves as a creative outlet and stress reducer for children. Second, it teaches patriotic heritage. Third, it affirms the unique gifts that each child can share with the world. Fourth, because musical intelligence has been shown to be one of the types of human intelligence, musical instruction is a valuable part of a child’s complete education.
We are enrolling now for our Spring Programs. There are 5 levels, each division represents a focus of study and levels of proficiency in music education and music performance.
