Fats in Food: Good or Bad

Push the Bar

by Treyden Ellis

Are fats really bad for you? The answer is yes and no. To many people’s disbelief, not all fats are bad for you. Many fats are actually good for you. There are many different types of fats, and 70% of these fats are actually good for you and help your cholesterol.

It is true that too much fat is bad for you and your diet, but too many carbs and calories can also be bad. Look at the food you eat and check the fat. Don’t eat too much fat, but then again don’t think that by cutting it out of your diet that you will benefit from it.

Many people believe that just because something says that it is low-fat, that automatically makes it good. This is a false idea. When something is low-fat, that means that they take out most of the fat in the product. By doing this, they also add artificial sweeteners to make it taste better.

The amount of sugar added to a product can be doubled just by them making it low-fat. It is better to have the fats than the extra sugar. So, when you are at the store and trying to make the decision of regular or low-fat, you are better off going with the regular.
