2009 Editorial Calendar

Would you like to be published in Desert Saints Magazine? We want to hear from you!

If you want to contribute, we have three formats:

2) Tell us about a favorite person who has made your day: a family member, ward member, or kind neighbor. Let us know what they did and why it made a difference. Please include a high resolution .jpg photo if possible.

3) Send us your article on one of the topics for an upcoming issue, 700-800 words. If we print your submission, we will pay you $50.

Submission guidelines: All submissions must be sent by email to Editor@DesertSaintsMagazine.com. Attach documents to the email in a word processing program. Note in the subject line which month the submission is for. Please include your name, address, ward and stake.

Note: If you are writing an article that includes an editor’s note for your book, the self-advertisement for your book constitutes payment for the article.

May: Mother’s Day (articles due by April 5, 2010)
Ideas- A Mother’s Love; Nurturing Others; Honor Your Wife.

June: Father’s Day (articles due by May 5, 2010)
Ideas- Blessed by a Father’s Example; How Do I Know Heavenly Father Loves Me; Power of a Father’s Love.

July: Patriotism (articles due by June 5, 2010)
Ideas- Serving Our Country; Agency is Freedom; Supporting Our Soldiers.

August: Service (articles due by July 5, 2010)
Ideas- What Have I Done For Someone Today; Serving Others; Seeking Service Opportunities.

September: Missionary Work (articles due by August 5, 2010)
Ideas- Strengthening Testimonies; Fellowshipping New Members; Sharing Testimonies; Plan of Happiness.

October: Temple (articles due by September 5, 2010)
Ideas- Genealogy; Blessings of the Temple; Serving Our Ancestors; The Youth and the Temple.

November: Youth (articles due by October 5, 2010)
Ideas- For the Strength of Youth; Blessings of Good Friends; Young Adults/Teens Doing Great Things.

December: Christmas (articles due by November 5, 2010)
Ideas- Make the Spirit of Christmas Last All Year; Putting Christ into Christmas; Memories of Christmas Past.
