Executive Senior Sales Director, Krystal Downey Shada shared some inspiring words of wisdom with a conference full of about 10,000 women last July. She opened her speech with “Full of Awesome!” You might even have a picture of this. It might look like a portrait of you around the age of five or six, missing teeth and mismatched socks. This is when we were full of Awesome! Nothing mattered in our world but catching bugs, playing games or just being goofy with friends. In my picture it actually looked like this: my brother and I wearing matching bright orange knit sweaters. I am sitting in the bed of a yellow metal toy dump truck and my brother getting ready to push me down a steep staggering hill. We were so brave. We were not thinking about cars on the road or even small rocks that could throw us off the path. All we knew is that it was going to be fun. This is the time in my life when I was carefree and I knew I could do anything. I was “full of awesome.” Do you have that picture of carefree and “full of awesome?”

One of my personal team members shared with me what her professor said in her BYU-I class. He said, “Don’t leave your education up to your teachers.” Part of my job description is to be a job coach and mentor; to help grow and inspire women. In order to inspire them, I have found that when they rely on me to do everything for them they no longer continue to grow and reach their full potential. I thought that was interesting. When I stopped supplying them with all the answers they became stronger. That was just the opposite of what I thought would happen. I thought they would become discouraged and less motivated. In fact, that didn’t happen. They actually blossomed and became more self reliant.

I would like you to run and grab a blank paper and a pen. If your house is anything like mine, you might be able to find a coloring book and crayons faster and easier. First, I need you to draw an extra large heart in the center of your paper.
Next, above that heart write this question, “If I dreamed bigger who would that affect?” Finally, inside your heart write your answer. That is a powerful question isn’t it? And an even more powerful answer.
