Locally grown produce is available to the public in the Las Vegas Valley. Visitors can pick their own fruits and vegetables or purchase from the fruit stand on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 7a.m. to noon at 7800 North Tenaya Way. The orchard also has apple cider which is produced on site. Take US 95 to Ann Road East, then go North on Tenaya.
The orchard is north of Tenaya and Farm Road.
Gilcrease Orchard is a non-profit foundation established to provide the community to learn about agriculture. It is a popular “pick and pay” site for a variety of produce at low prices. The Gilcrease Orchard is one of the oldest farms in the valley, and is also the only remaining agricultural operation in the valley. The orchards span 50 acres, and contain more than 6,000 fruit trees.

On Monday April 27th, AAA Home Rescuers, LLC. Testified at the Senate hearing for the committee of Commerce and Labor. The hearing was on a new bill, A.B. 152 regarding loan modification and foreclosure consultants. There are many scams going on, and those in difficult circumstances are being victimized. AAA Home Rescuers created and presented amendments to increase consumer protection, which were accepted and written into the bill.

Margie Seastrand has always loved the performing arts and educating children. She combined those two pursuits and began building Hollywood Kids Academy in her garage in the fall of 2006. Hollywood Kids Academy now has two locations, Sunrise Mountain and the new North campus which includes a real 200 person theater, with plans for two more locations! The first semester she had 24 students. The next semester there were 84. Today they are approaching 200—testament to not only Margie’s tenacity and the program itself, but to the universal love many young people have for the performing arts.
