There was a time, not so very long ago, that faithful Latter-day Saints traveled to St. George to go to the Temple. Some even served there as ordinance workers. It was a sacrifice, but a sacrifice given freely. Then in 1984, it was announced Las Vegas would be getting its own temple, which was dedicated on December 16-18, 1989.

“Joyful Life” was the theme of the Las Vegas Time Out for Women, held at Cashman Center September
19 & 20. Nearly two thousand women gathered to hear counsel from Sheri Dew, Wendy Watson Nelson, Virginia Pearce, Tom Smith, Chris Stewart and more. Music and inspiration were provided by Hillary Weeks and Jason Deere, and there was even a video segment from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

The Daughters of Utah Pioneers is starting their new year of activities, and would love to have you join them. The DUP is an international society, with over 20,000 members dedicated to preserving the memories of the Utah Pioneers. They do this through preserving landmarks, personal histories, marking historical places and events, and teaching others through educational outreach programs.
